MAIN ASSIGNMENT: YOUR ANTWERP STORY!

In the main assignment everything comes together: your pre-tasks, the key-notes, your scoutings, the city of Antwerp and… YOU!

The general objective is TO TELL YOUR ANTWERP STORY  as young urban travelers. The following 5 steps are meant to be a guideline for the content and the structure of your presentation.

1/ “Antwerp- The real deal”

Compare your desk & field research about the city of Antwerp:

(theory versus practice, paper versus your Antwerp scoutings).

Which elements about Antwerp were  confirmed?

Which parts not? Biggest surprises?

2/ Customer Journey before & after

In pre-task 2, all national teams described their customer journey to Antwerp.  (Inspiration, Planning, Booking , Stay, Share).

If you would make it again now, which parts would you change ?

How & why? Give one example for each stage.

Make sure to add the sharing this time: what and where have you shared about your week in Antwerp? (+ show examples)

3/ SWOT analysis: “Antwerp as a future proof city trip”

Based on all of the above, present 3 specific, applicable recommendations for VISIT ANTWERP:  How can Antwerp stay an attractive city-trip destination in the future, especially  for the young urban traveler?

4/ Tell us YOUR ANTWERP-STORY!

Make a MOODBOARD for the city, based on YOUR scouting, using YOUR experiences and YOUR pictures. Try to grasp the city’s DNA, its uniqueness…  The following words can be an inspiration:

Discovery, top moment, connection, local, waaw-moment…

5/ Conclusion (based on all of the above)

What makes ANTWERP unique and attractive as a future-proof city trip destination for the young urban traveler?

Describe in 5 lines.

Add  your own most iconic picture of the city!

This assignment is to be worked out with the whole team and will be presented on  Friday afternoon November 24th

(15 minutes per team, approx. 15 PPT slides)

The overall quality of your work will be evaluated based on the following evaluation criteria:

  • in-depth
  • innovative
  • applicable
  • creative

GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY!

SCOUTINGS ANTWERP

Dear students,

During the project week, you will discover “Antwerp, the real deal”!

A city should be explored in  small groups, so you will do the scoutings with your international team.

For each scouting, we give you  a few suggestions, but the rest is up to you! Your inspiration  can be your desk research (pre-task 3), but you can  use any inspiration you like, including  your eyes, your nose...

In short: let the city guide you!

You have the freedom to customize your own visit and choose all extra’s: hidden gems, instagrammable spots, encounters…

Apart from visiting some of the highlights of Antwerp, we want you to experience and feel “the vibe” of the city. Think out of the box!

Why not try to get on the water, or under the water, or even underground?

What about street art? What about the real “hidden gems”?

YOU decide the route: don’t rely on Google maps ( the shortest route is mostly not the most beautiful one!)

During your scoutings, keep in mind the main assignment, plus questions like: Where do you get the “local” feeling? Where do you feel welcome? Where are you surprised? What was a  top moment?
